Också ur Metros sista nummer inför sommaren:
Angående Usama bin Ladins död, Radley Balko:
Yes, bin Laden the man is dead. But he achieved all he set out to
achieve, and a hell of a lot more. He forever changed who we are as a
country, and for the worse. Mostly because we let him. That isn’t
something a special ops team can fix.
Angående räddningen av bilfabrikerna, Michael Rizzo:
We’ve destroyed a billion and a half dollars worth of valuable cars for the sake of stimulus that never really happened. We made the lives of poor used car buyers more difficult and expensive. We’ve spent over 6 times as much to reduce carbon costs as the carbon is costing society in the first place. And people like me who raise eyebrows over such absolute nonsense are painted as the nutty, man-hating, ideologues.
Och angående sjukvårdsreformen, förbluffande ojämne Stefan Molyneux:
(Direktlänk)
Molyneuxs sammanfattning:
Fact 1: There Is No Law in the US Anymore
Fact 2: Obamacare Is an Admission That All Previous Government Healthcare Programs Have Failed
Fact 3: Cost of Already Doubled from Initial Estimates
Fact 4: 70%+ of Healthcare Issues Results from Individual Choice
Fact 5: The Inability to Discriminate on Pre-Existing Conditions is an Essential Driver of Healthcare Costs
Fact 6: The Fines for Noncompliance Are Destined to Rise Enormously

Fyraåringsövervikten i Stockholm, hela trenden

Alternativa Krauthammerdagen
Det är måhända inte den 22 april, men idag är det fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader plus fem månader sedan Charles Krauthammer sade:
Hans Blix had five months to find weapons. He found nothing. We’ve had five weeks. Come back to me in five months. If we haven’t found any, we will have a credibility problem.

DANGER !!!!!! TERROR HORROR
Från Grevad Lux:
”Skatteextremister” är ett stort hot tydligen…
Kriteriet för att vara skatteextremist verkar inte helt klart, men nog måste ”motsätter sig all form av beskattning” falla in i den kategorin? Isåfall är jag skatteextremist. Du borde alltså vara rädd för mig. Bu!
For example, the following is considered terrorism or suspected terrorism in modern America:
• A terminal in Newark airport was evacuated because the TSA forgot to screen a tiny baby.
• TSA agents discovered an "anomaly in the crotchital area" of a 79-year-old woman.
• TSA agents at JFK harassed the family of a 7-year-old girl with cerebral palsy and developmental disability.
• TSA screeners in LA ran a drug ring and took bribes from drug dealers.
• The TSA's anti-hugging squad caught a terrorist masquerading as a 4-year-old girl who loves her grandma.
• A 95-year-old US Air Force veteran from World War II and his 85-year-old friend were humiliated, searched and robbed at a San Diego TSA checkpoint.

- Questioning war (even though war reduces our national security; and see this)
- Criticizing the government’s targeting of innocent civilians with drones (although killing innocent civilians with drones is one of the main things which increases terrorism. And see this)

Mrs. Tweek: These boys are absolutely right. We've been using these poor kids to pull at your heartstrings for our cause, and it's wrong. We're as low and despicable as Rob Reiner. You keep protesting and complaining, but did any of you ever even bother to taste Harbucks coffee? [shot of the town committee. The crowd blinks] Harbucks coffee got to where it is by being the best. Don't you think you should at least try it? [the crowd parts as Postem exits Harbucks with a tray of his coffee, then closes in to get the coffee. Some people taste it]
Townsman: Hey, this is pretty damn good.
Townsman 2: Yeah, it doesn't have that bland, raw, sewage taste that Tweek's coffee has.
Mr. Tweek: [comes over for a taste] Hey. Hey, that is good.
Postem: It's a French roast.
Mr. Tweek: It's subtle and mild. Mild, like that first splash of sun on an April morning. This coffee is coffee the way it should be.
Ur Hell Comes to Quahog, från Family Guy Scripts:
[Peter i Walmartmotsvarigheten Superstore USA:] My God, look at this wonderland of treasures. What would a guy like me have to do to be part of this magical world?
Ur When You Dish Upon a Star, från SNPP:
Homer: Apu, I'm about to purchase some weird and fruity items, and I don't want any guff. First of all, I'll need the following mushrooms: Portobello ...
Apu: Yes.
Homer: Porcini ...
Apu: Right.
Homer: Chanterelle ...
Apu: Uh, huh.
Homer: ... and Shiitake.
Apu: [cheerily] Okay, we have none of those! What is next?

"Let's make a law against obesity."
"It is not fair that those who are overweight (There, I said it) will be granted a transplant ahead of somebody who is otherwise healthy, when they clearly neglect themselves."
"I think more should be done to reduce those who are overweight by introducing a fat tax or be refused entry to fast food rests. They not only cost the tax payer Billions but are laziness and greed personified"
"The parents slowly killing their children are not generally stick-thin themselves."
"It is against the law to sell alcohol to someone who is drunk. How about making it illegal to sell certain foods to obese customers?"
"Society has a role to play: smokers have been banned from public places, so should the obese."
"Why not call them 'drain on the health service', 'FB's', 'Lardies', 'Pigs', 'Heart attack on legs'."
"Stop having sex with them. That should do the trick."
"If people want to die early by not eating sensibly, then thats their affair. God knows we are very overpopulated."
"I live near a chippy and seeing their grotesque customers everyday actually put me off chips to the extent that I don't really like them anymore. The worst bit is seeing them poisoning their children too"
"We need a campaign to bring back shame for avoidable moral hazards."
"I get offended everyday by the unhealthy FAT people sucking up NHS resources with lifestyle imposed issues but no one worries about that."
"Cant the government give these people ration cards?!"
"Most fatties DESERVE to be mocked."
"I look down on fat people because they're abusing the system: they overeat and expect others to foot the bill. If the obese won't change themselves then a little health fascism is fully justified."
"there is a simple solution. FAT TAX "THE MORE YOU WEIGH, THE MORE YOU PAY" if a 18st fatty had to pay £20 for a big mac and £5 for a bus ride the weight would just drop off."
"Obesity problem and renewable energy...hmmm. How about we round up all the overweight people get them on treadmills and use them to power the country. Two birds, one stone."
"Right on! And if they refuse, melt them down for fuel oil."
"Fat people should be killed at birth!"
The Treasury's report says smoking helped, not harmed, Government finances, because the early death of smokers saved huge huge pension costs of $5.5 billion to $5.8 billion a year.
When you pay the check you get to call the tune, and guess what -- we've demanded that government pay the check! Now they're calling the tune. Are you surprised?
I'm not. But the bleating is backwards -- what we need to do instead is get rid of all of the cost-shifting in the medical system. Charity care worked for hundreds of years and still will, if the government gets the hell out of it.

Dagens forskningsresultat
